It also provides a flexible way to create virtual\ndatasets from multiple files. It does this by extracting the byte\nranges, compression information and other information about the data and\nstoring this metadata in a new, separate object. This means that you can\ncreate a virtual aggregate dataset over potentially many source files,\nfor efficient, parallel and cloud-friendly in-situ access without having\nto copy or translate the originals. It is a gateway to in-the-cloud\nmassive data processing while the data providers still insist on using\nlegacy formats for archival storage.\n","version":"0.2.9","softwareVersion":"0.2.9","license":"https://spdx.org/licenses/Other","codeRepository":"https://github.com/fsspec/kerchunk","issueTracker":"https://github.com/fsspec/kerchunk/issues","url":"https://github.com/fsspec/kerchunk","programmingLanguage":{"@type":"ComputerLanguage","name":"Python"},"maintainer":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Chrismarsh","url":"https://github.com/Chrismarsh"}],"author":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Chrismarsh","url":"https://github.com/Chrismarsh"}],"copyrightHolder":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Chrismarsh","url":"https://github.com/Chrismarsh"}],"dateCreated":"2026-01-11","dateModified":"2026-01-11","datePublished":"2026-01-11","copyrightYear":2026,"downloadUrl":"https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/source/k/kerchunk/kerchunk-0.2.9.tar.gz","applicationCategory":"spack","runtimePlatform":"spack","developmentStatus":"active","sameAs":["https://packages.spack.io/package.html?name=py-kerchunk"],"https://www.w3.org/ns/activitystreams#likes":366,"https://forgefed.org/ns#forks":95}
